Bhupat Garh Fort

The remains of this once mighty fort destroyed during the British rule inspire in you a historical pride for our mighty ancestors. Bhupatgarh fort, was a comparably small fort located outskirts of Jawhar and was constructed during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The inner chamber looks dark. This is a historical monument with strong links to Maratha Kingdom.

A legend claims that this place was visited by Lord Ram wife Sita and the sons Lava and Kush and there is a smooth rack with four pair of foot prints which is evidence to this legendary story.
