On the east side of the city is an old temple of Lord hanuman, surrounded by dark forest of Cactus, giving its name Katya Maruti Mandir. The temple is surrounded by a deep valley a nearly 500Feet on three sides. This is known as a Hanuman Point. From this point one can get a 360 degree view of Jawhar,with the magnificent Jai Vilas Palace to the right. There is a winding road climbing to Jawhar from the cliff. It was on this very cliff that Kranti Veer Savarkar meditated.When he visited Jawhar. During the day the historical fort of Shahapur Maholi is visible from here. In the early morning one can see the surrounding mountains covered with heavy fog. The valley is known as Devkobacha Kada. From here one can see a beautiful sunrise and take in he beauty of the surroundings valley, high hills and royal Jai Vilas Palace. There is also a temple dedicated to Lord Khandoba. The festival of Dussehrsa is celebrated here with great fervor. This is known as sunrise Point, where a stunning view of mountain ranges and deep valleys will enthrall you.
